The Double Flag Coin of Two Hundred Wen was a currency of the Republic of China period, famous for its rarity and exquisite manufacturing techniques, and was listed as one of the top 10 precious coins of modern Chinese mechanism currency. The origin of this currency can be traced back to the establishment of the Republic of China after the abdication of the Qing Emperor in 1911. In the "Temporary Presidential Decree" issued by Sun Yat sen, it was proposed to mint new commemorative coins. Subsequently, two mints in Wuchang and Nanjing took the lead in minting copper coins as auxiliary coins to commemorate the founding of the Republic of China, mainly with a denomination of ten wen, which were widely issued throughout the country to replace the Qing Dynasty copper coins. In 1914, the copper coin was officially renamed as the "Copper Coin". The biggest difference between the copper coins issued by the Republic of China and the Qing Dynasty was that the dragon pattern was replaced with the Jiahe pattern composed of rice ears.
The main mint for the Double Flag Coin with a denomination of 200 wen was Sichuan Mint. In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), copper coins of various denominations, including 200 wen, were minted to meet market circulation demand. The obverse design of this currency features two crossed national flags in the center, while the reverse design features a grain of rice with a grain of two hundred characters in the center. The upper ring reads "Made in the Second Year of the Republic of China" and the lower ring reads "Made by Sichuan Mint". This currency not only reflects the monetary system and economic situation during the Republic of China period, but also witnesses the political changes and historical development of Sichuan region after the Xinhai Revolution.
